Construction of a new biomass plant
KPA Unicon has confirmed that it has signed a contract with Cartulinas CMPC to build a new 30 tonnes per hour, steam boiler plant at Cartulinas Valdivia Mill in Valdivia.
The contract between the two corporations will include all processing equipment, buildings, installation supervision, commissioning, as well as training for all operations staff. KPA has also agreed to maintain the plant under a 5 year maintenance contract.
The plant will operate on several materials, including wood chips, bark, sawdust and biosludge. It will also house KPA Unicon’s PlantSys system, which will be responsible for collecting data from the processing equipment and enables secure remote access to the plant.
The new facility is scheduled to open in December 2018.
