Development of a resource recovery centre/WtE facility
Last month, it was announced that Cork County Council had granted approval for a new project in Ringaskiddy. The decision follows years of deferrals after objections were raised back in 2016, which resulted in new information having to be assessed on various occasions.
Indaver Ireland is planning to develop a resource recovery centre (RRC) and a waste-to-energy (WtE) facility that will recovery energy and metals. It will process up to 240,000 tonnes of waste each year, generating 18.5 MW of electricity.
