AcuComm’s Daily Full Access Project – Australia Waste Processing Plant

Construction of a garden waste processing facility

A new organic waste processing facility is due to open at the Awaba Waste Management Facility in Lake Macquarie, New South Wales in July 2018. The plant was initially developed to process just garden waste, but the decision has been made to expand operations and accept food waste too.

The facility is currently undergoing expansion, with this plant just one of a number of new additions. Other developments include two new landfill cells, a community recycling centre, weighbridge, waste transfer station, wheel wash and administration building.

You can access this project in full here. Alternatively, find out more about the expansion in Project 5726.
