Construction of a TetraPak recycling plant
Ecoplasteam is currently building the world’s first plant for the production of EcoAllene through the recycling of polyethylene and aluminium polycomposite recovered from food packaging (POAL; commonly known as TetraPak).
The loan of €4.2 million is being obtained by the Banca Popolare di Milano, with assistance from Swiss Merchant Corporation. The project is being implemented by Amut.
Once completed, the plant will enable Ecoplasteam to recycle 7,000 tonnes of waste coming from this particular packaging disposal, mainly from the polycomposite part (up to now only cellulose can be recovered).
