Construction of an AD plant at a distillery
Clearfleau has broken ground at the site of a new £3 million anaerobic digestion (AD) plant at the Inver House Balmenach distillery in Scotland.
130 cubic metres of whisky by-products will be used daily to produce 2,000 cubic metres of biogas. The biogas will be used to power a combined heat and power plant, which will make the site energy self-sufficient.
According to current scheduling, the plant will be operational by summer 2018.
