AcuComm’s Daily Full Access Project – Hong Kong Waste Treatment Facility

Development of a food waste pre-treatment facility.

It was announced last week (Thursday 30th November) that ATAL Engineering Limited have won the contract to design, build and operate a new pre-treatment facility for food waste at the existing Shuen Wan Leachate site in Tai Po, Hong Kong.

The new facility will operate under a Food Waste/Sewage Sludge Anaerobic Co-digestion Trial Scheme, which aims to improve Hong Kong’s current waste treatment capability. Under the scheme, up to 50 tonnes of food waste is expected to be treated a day.

The Trial Scheme is planned for commissioning in 2019 and the contract includes a six-year operating period.
