Next up in our series of Global Waste Investment Fact Files is the Argentina edition. As of April 2017, AcuComm was listing eight projects in the country, with a total value of US$363 million, or US$45 million each.
Key points from this Fact File:
- Integrated/mixed facilities is the leading project type, accounting for US$205 million or 57% of the total. This is followed by waste processing, accounting for US$116 million or 32% of the total.
- The estimated capacity of these projects is 1.3 million tonnes. This is equal to 166,819 tonnes per project on average.
- This capacity is equal to 9% of Argentina’s estimated annual waste generation, at 14.2 million tonnes.
- Waste investments totalling US$243 million are expected to become operational over the next few years. This is currently expected to peak in 2018 at US$205 million.
