Expansion of a facility recovering phosphate from fly ash
The world’s first facility to recover phosphate from residual materials on a large-scale is being expanded in phases to increase capacity from 70,000 tonnes of fly ash per year to 100,000 tonnes.
Work on the expansion of the recycling plant was completed in December 2017, which now allows the production of animal feed from low-grade phosphate ore. The second phase of expansion is underway and is expected to be complete in 2019.
