Construction of a recycling point for household waste.
On 17th October 2018, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning for Andalucia (La Consejería de Medio Ambiente y Ordenación del Territorio) announced that it has awarded an amount of €269,126 for the expansion of the municipal solid waste collection point in the municipality of Montilla, Cordoba.
Previously, in March 2018, the Ministry announced it had allocated a budget of €399,475 to expand the recycling point in Montilla. A tender for the work has already been issued.
This facility will benefit a population of more than 23,500 inhabitants.
The centre will be equipped to receive various waste including pruning and gardening debris, household and vehicle oil waste, batteries, X-ray photography equipment, furniture, electrical and electronic equipment, fluorescent bulbs, ink cartridges and printer toner, textiles, paper and cardboard, glass, packaging, scrap metals and liquid waste (paints, solvents, varnishes, dyes, etc).
The work will be co-financed by investment from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (Fondo Europeo Agrícola de Desarrollo Rural).
The construction of the facility is part of the Territorial Plan of Management of Non-Hazardous Waste of Andalucia 2010-2019. Once completed, the facility will be managed by the local council.
